Ola Electric said in a stock exchange filing on Friday that the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, Anshul Khandelwal, and Chief Technology and Product Officer, Suvonil Chatterjee have resigned. Even before this, some senior executives had resigned. Last month, Ola Electric also laid off hundreds of workers.
The company has increased the number of its stores four times on Christmas Day, December 25. Ola Electric has 4,000 stores. Customers will also get service facilities at these stores. Apart from big cities, Ola Electric has also expanded its network in small towns and cities. The company said, “With our new stores, service facilities will also be available. We have made a big change in the experience of purchasing EV.” This is one of the fastest launches of distribution of Electric Vehicles (EV). Ola Electric has also announced the release of MoveOS 5 beta for its electric scooters. MoveOS has been provided as the operating system in the company’s S1 electric scooters. The same operating system will also be used in its electric motorcycles. With MoveOS 5, features like group navigation, live location sharing and road trip mode through Ola Maps will be available. Apart from this, features like smart charging, smart park and TPMS alert will also be added.
Earlier this month, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) had asked to provide additional documents regarding the notice given to the company on alleged violation of consumer rights and unfair trade practices. In October, CCPA had issued a show cause notice to the company regarding alleged violation of consumer rights, misleading advertisements and unfair business practices. The company has also made efforts to resolve service related complaints. In this context, it has expanded its sales and service network.
